New Shoes
The other shoe dropped?
Well, ain't that sad.
Go get another pair,
the best you ever had!
Don't have scratch?
Pocket kinda empty?
Well, ain't you lucky?
The Universe got plenty!
You got no trust?
You frettin' and your worried?
Sit back and relax,
good luck can't be hurried.
You get so mad,
you just wanna sock it?
Hey, lookee here!
Found a fifty in your pocket!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Rommy! Wanted to do something sort of folksy!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny and folksy, has that ring to it. Good work. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Sometimes you just have to go funny or cry! Lol
DeleteI just squealed with delight. I totally want to hear Reba McEntire sing this one... It just sounds like the kind of song a girl smacks her thighs to and grins aloud.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this!
I will always hear Reba's voice on this now! I am so glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteThere are always be a silver lining in every cloud. My Uncle gave me that lesson on a get well card when I was in the second grade (about 6-7 years old). That's 40 years ago in my life, and I wish I had that card still, but at least I have the memory of reading it over and over. This poem reminded me of that precious memory. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I could bring back a good memory!
DeleteWow! Hey buddy can you spare a dime!
ReplyDeleteI seen the whole poem in my head! It was magnificent!
Yes! Thanks, Debi! That is exactly what I was going for!
