Day 14--Flourishes--NaPoWriMo with Magaly Guerrero 2015

Flourishes

When comes the easy rain,
washing folds and crevices,
leaving behind the scent of promise,
Earth turns wanton,
begging to be touched,
furrowed into climax
so sweet seeds can take hold.
The breeze blows with lust,
pollen to payload,
tree to tree, plant to plant,
expectations rising for
fruitful tastings.
The Queen flies,
finding fertility in the sky,
while workers make love to pistil and stamen
in hope of future gold.
Blood sizzles pungent, spicy.
Breath labors shallow and ragged.
Firelight embroiders sweat
with magic
powered by the beat
of many drums.
The Eternal Round
adds another flourish.

Today's prompt was to write about at least 3 things you enjoy doing in April. I am a gardener, nature lover, bird watcher, among other things.

  1. So sensually earthly! I love it. And the imagery of earth as a sexual creature (which she is) makes me smile from ear to ear. ♥

  2. This is a bright (and hot) whirl of images, personification and great vivid language. It really has that feel of April's intense jump into life, which is one of the things that as a fellow gardener, I love. Beautiful.
